Evi Giamopoulou studied piano with Helen Galani and Apostolos Alexiou in the Municipal Concervatory of Larissa and musicology in the Aristotel University of Thessaloniki. She continued her Postgraduate studies in London at Trinity College of Music. She was granted a three year scholarship (Haynes, TCM, Kathleen Creed scholarships) by the college for piano studies in Philip Fowke’s class taking a Postgraduate Diploma Course, a Postgraduate Advanced Diploma Course and an MMus in Performance Course.
She has been distinguished in many piano and chamber music competitions in London and she participated in many piano solo and chamber music concerts in Greece and abroad. She played in important music halls such as Athens Music Hall, Thessaloniki Music Hall, A. Onassis Institute in Athens, St Martin-in-the-Fields, e.t.c. As soloist she has played in cooperation with Athens and Thessaloniki National Orchestras, with the Athens Concert Hall Camerata, with the National Radio Orchestra e.t.c.
She worked in the Aristotel University of Thessaloniki in the Fine Art School (Music Department). She worked as a piano teacher at the Athens University of Engineers (Music Department), at the Music Department of the Ionian University, at the Municipal Conservatory in Larissa and at the Athens Nakas Conservatoy. She is a member of the Specialized and Laboratory Teaching Staff of the University of the Macedonia – School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts at the Department of Music Science and Art. She is a member of the piano ensemble “Piandaemonium”.
