Antonios Selemidis

Αntonios Selemidis started playing the piano at the age of 9 at the Conservatory of Florina (class of Erotokritos Karidis).

In 2014, he obtained a piano diploma at the Conservatory “Music College” of Thessaloniki, in the class of Domna Evnouhidou with a grade of Excellent unanimously, A’ Prize and a gold medal for his excellent performance.

In 2016 he graduated with honors from the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia, in the piano class of Igor Petrin. He then completed his postgraduate studies in Soloistic Performance with honors at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Germany, with Sheila Arnold as professor. During his postgraduate studies he was a scholarship holder of the “Friends of Music” association and was awarded the “Gina Bachauer” prize by the Spanish association “World in Harmony”. He has been awarded in competitions for solo piano and chamber music. (1st prize in the “Filonas” competition in 2014, a honorary award in the Piano Competition of the Thessaloniki Piano Festival in 2015, and more).

He has attended numerous masterclasses with distinguished pianists, some of whom are: Marianna Shirinyan, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Vladimir Viardo, Alan Weiss, Hamish Milne, Claudio-Martinez Mehner, Theodoros Tzovanakis and Nikos Kyriosoglou.

His artistic activity includes performances at the “Alternative Stage” of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Thessaloniki Piano Festival and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the concert hall of the Athens Conservatory, as well as numerous recitals and chamber music concerts in Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands.

Since 2015 he is a member of the ensemble “PIANDAEMONIUM” (6 pianos, 12 pianists). In 2018 he participated in the Athens-Epidavros Festival, in a concert dedicated to Claude Debussy, which was broadcasted live by the Third Programme of the Greek Radio (ERT). As a soloist he has performed with the “Camerata Junior” Orchestra of Athens, the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Macedonia, and the Symphony Orchestra of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki.

As a piano teacher, he teaches at the Municipal Conservatory of Brühl in Cologne and since 2018 he has participated as a piano accompanist in productions of the Bonn Opera. In 2023 he was summoned as a jury member in the “Jugend Musiziert” competition which is held annually in all regions of Germany.
