Eftihia Veniota

Eftihia was born in 1973 in Thessaloniki, Greece. In 1991 she obtained her piano Diploma with a First Class and VirtuosityFirst Prize (class of DomnaEvnouhidou), while in 1992 she acquired the Diploma (L.R.S.M) of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music of England.

Eftihia then pursued her advanced performance studies in France, at the “Conservatoire National de Région Aubervilliers -La Courveuve”, class Isabelle Grandet, and graduated with “Premier Prix de piano” and “Perfectionnement”. She then furthered her studies at the “Conservatoire de Montreuil” (class of Muriel Blaisse).

In 2002 Eftihia was awarded a First Class Diploma from the Soloists’ Department of the“Hochschüle für Musik Köln” where she studied with Ulla Graf. Furthermore, continuing with her postgraduate studies under R. Szidon, she graduated with a “KonzertExamen” Degree from the “Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf”. She also studied regularly with Lev Vlassenko, Duo Ganevi, Martino Tirimo, Yannis Vakarelis, Pierre Pontier and Muriel Blaisse.

Eftihia has been awarded a number of prizes from piano competitions in Greece while as a soloist she has given recitals and has participated in chamber music concerts in Greece and other European countries.

As of 1999, improvisation as soundtrack for theatrical plays and films has been her keen interest (cinéma – concert). In addition, she is a member of the “Hermes Duo” along with the saxophonist Georgios Lygeridis, as well as founding member of “Piandaemonium – Ensemble for 12 pianists on 6 pianos”. She has been member of “Idee Fixe” ensemble of contemporary music and she collaborated with some of the most important soloists of the classical saxophone as Georges Porte, Claude Delangle, Christophe Bois, Nicolas Arsenijevic, Martin Trillaud, Antonio Garcia Jorge and others.

Currently Eftihia holds a teaching position at the State Conservatoire of Thessaloniki.
She co-organises the “Olympic SAX Festival” with G. Lygeridis.
